Landscape

Many of my landscapes are painted on location. Painting outdoors allows me both to record the scene and be affected by the sounds, movement of light and shadow, and the various smells of the surroundings. These plein air paintings are a visual diary as well as pieces of art. Larger studio paintings are done in watercolor and gouache exploiting the natural tendencies of these media to drip and spatter. I strive for a distinct atmosphere in my landscape art.
