4:43 from Penn Station expresses my sense of the eerily beautiful wasteland that I see commuting on New Jersey Transit from New York City. The waving fragmites bordering the stagnant water with the faint skyline of buildings, light industry and powerlines across it strike a chord of melancholy that I felt was nicely captured by my watercolor.
